China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co., Ltd. (CNMC), a key state-owned enterprise in the field of nonferrous metal mineral resource development, participated in the fourth China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo held in Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan Province, from June 12 to 15.

Through sand table displays and multimedia presentations, among other interactive formats, CNMC showcased its 27-year journey in Africa.

During the expo, Liu Yu, Vice President of CNMC, held talks with Chipoka Mulenga, Zambia's Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry.

Liu briefed Mulenga on CNMC's operations in Zambia, while Mulenga spoke highly of CNMC's investment and achievements, as well as its proactive efforts in scientific and technological innovation and business diversification in Zambia.

Mulenga noted that CNMC has long played an active role in advancing local economic growth in Zambia through industrial upgrading and technological empowerment, and is regarded as an indispensable strategic partner by the Zambian government.

The Zambian government is fully confident in CNMC's future prospects in Zambia, will continue to provide policy support for the Group, and welcomes its further investment in the country, Mulenga said.

He also expressed hope that the two sides will deepen cooperation in emerging fields to jointly inject strong impetus into Zambia's vision for diversified economic development.

Since entering Southern and Central Africa, CNMC has invested over $3 billion in Zambia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), establishing an integrated industrial cluster that spans mining, mineral processing, smelting, trade, and logistics services.

In addition to its industrial footprint, CNMC has actively fulfilled its corporate social responsibility (CSR).

By promoting employee localization, technology transfer, and CSR projects supporting community development, CNMC has deeply integrated into the local socioeconomic landscape, becoming a model for China-Africa industrial capacity cooperation and green development.
